THIRTEENTH DAY FOR THIRTEEN CURSES - Wednesday 13th January 2010

Despite the disruption caused by the bad weather, Walton Priory Middle School played host to the launch of local author Michelle Harrison’s new book, ‘The 13 Curses’, on Wednesday 13th Jan. Michelle who wrote her first book, ‘The 13 Treasures’ whilst working at Waterstones in Stafford came to Walton as her first ever school visit last year. She was very nervous about talking to school children before her visit but had such a lovely time, she decided to return to launch her new title on the 13th of the month. Michelle went on to win the Waterstones’ Children’s Book Prize’ 2009 so obviously her publishers are hoping that Walton Priory children witnessed the start of the next great publishing phenomenon. A final book in the trilogy, ‘The Thirteen Warts’ is planned for next year and Michelle is hoping she can make it three out of three at Walton. With so many schools closed across the county, let’s hope that the 13th will prove to be another lucky day, next year.
