    Our school and governors are looking to enlist a full-time Science Teacher, who will begin work in September 2019. Due to an increase in student numbers, we will have a six-form entry for the third academic year in a row.

    Walton Priory is a school that takes pride in its multitude of STEM awards, such as our achievement of being the winners of the BP Ultimate STEM Challenge. In our curriculum, we include an afternoon of rotational STEM activities and Competitive Sports that challenge and develop pupils’ knowledge and skills. We are currently in the process of leading an ENTHUSE bid for the schools in the local area, which includes projects at all stages of transition.

    Pupils in KS3 have four Maths lessons per week, as well as one food-based lesson; two science lessons; an ICT lesson and an afternoon of STEM based project work. Throughout the school, we have a high percentage of students who are achieving higher marks in classes. We have two modern suites in the science labs; an advanced ICT suite, library-based ICT suite; a class set of google Chromebooks; A developed DT suite and a newly refurbished sports hall and studio. We also have 10 acres of land which include wooded areas, and a large playing field and several teachers are currently training for the Forest School Leader award.

    We are looking for an applicant who:

    The successful candidate will teach Science lessons in the mornings and some afternoons and on certain days will teach science based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) projects.

    Mealtime Supervisor (with setting up)

    Walton Priory Middle School is seeking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic mealtime supervisors (with setting up)

    The post is permanent and the hours of work are 11.45 to 1.30pm Monday – Friday, a total of 8.75 hours a week, term time only. The hourly rate is £8.55. Please see the job description for full details.

    The Governing Body wishes to appoint a full time Physical Education Teacher – Girls’ PE, from September 2019. Numbers are growing and in September we will be a six form entry for the third academic year in a row.

     

    Walton Priory is a school with a strong STEM vision and a very successful STEM Faculty. The STEM Faculty encompasses Science, Maths, ICT, DT and Physical Education. We compete nationally in STEM and PE competitions, our biggest and most recent national PE achievement was representing Stoke City at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea and at the King Power Stadium, Leicester in 2017 and 2018. We have an innovative curriculum encompassing three hours of PE each week, including one hour of class PE and two hours of competitive sports, allowing students to take full responsibility for their learning, health/fitness and future.

     

    The school operates a ‘primary’ style model of class teaching in Year Five and Year Six, with the benefit of specialist subject staff for Key Stage Three. We have a large proportion of high attaining children and standards are high at both KS2 and KS3. Within the department we have two fully up to date science labs, a new advanced ICT suite, a library based ICT suite, a class set of Google Chromebooks, a DT suite and a newly refurbished sports hall and studio. The school site is set on ten acres of land, including multiple playing areas for a variety of sports as well as wooded areas.
