Mrs Peach

Head of Humanities

I have been teaching for over 20 years, teaching predominantly Humanities subjects at secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. I have also been Head of History and Head of PSHE & Citizenship at differing times in my career. I studied a History degree at the University of Sheffield, followed by a PGCE at Keele University. I have completed Leading from the Middle and the Historical Association’s Subject Leadership qualification, and I am currently studying for an NPQ in Leading Literacy. I am also a History GCSE examiner for AQA.

Learning the humanities subjects enables pupils to have a deeper understanding of the world and their place within it, and I remain as passionate about teaching this as I did when I qualified in 2000.

Outside of teaching I have two wonderful children who take up much of my time, and a small cluster of cats (currently four). I am an avid reader, particularly of crime fiction and history books. I enjoy cooking and baking, visiting castles and museums, as well as most activities which get me outdoors.
