Walton Priory Governing Body
Our school governors help to make a positive contribution to our children’s education.
Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards, as such the role of the governing board is absolutely key to the effectiveness of a school.
Whilst the headteacher is responsible for the internal organisation, management and control of the school, the governors provide strategic leadership and accountability in schools; taking a large responsibility for finance and working with the headteacher to make the tough decisions to balance the resources available.
Welcome from the Chair of Governors
Dear Parents and Carers
On behalf of the Governors I would like to welcome you to Walton Priory Middle School.
Governors are volunteers. Our role is to work in partnership with the Headteacher, staff and you as parents to ensure that your children reach their potential in learning and benefit from the best opportunities for personal development in a safe, supportive and happy setting. We are fortunate to have governors from a range of backgrounds and with different skills. We use this experience to provide strategic direction for the school, to hold leaders to account for the quality of education and standards achieved and to make sure the school’s money is well spent.
It is a privilege for Governors to contribute to your children’s development and to celebrate their achievements. We are proud that your children work hard, respect each other and look after the environment and that Walton Priory Middle School continues to go from strength to strength thanks to the enthusiasm and hard work of the Headteacher and staff, and your support.
If you have a compliment, concern or a point of view to share, please let us know. We can be contacted via the School Office.
I look forward to joining you at some of the School’s events during the school year – please come and say hello.
