Current Issues

  • We recently sent out an email warning you about the ‘Game’ which is a trend currently circulating online that many children in the country are attempting to participate in. It is being seen most often on Facebook but it is also on other platforms. The ‘Game’ contains several different actions that children are being encouraged to complete, including the encouragement of self-harm and hurting others.
  • Many children love playing on the online game ‘Roblox’ currently, it is worth noting that the online chat rooms are not secure. We ask that you remain vigilant on monitoring your child’s participation within them.
  • Social media algorithms are a mystery to many of us and therefore it is important to be aware that inappropriate content will often pop up or be suggested to us all. A current concern for children is YouTube, we highly recommend enabling restrictive view on there as well as using ‘YouTube Kids’.
