Hello! I’m Mrs Braddock, and I’m absolutely thrilled to teach and be the Head of Music here at Walton Priory. My mission is to give every student the chance to experience live music and explore all kinds of genres—whether that’s playing, singing, or just enjoying the magic of performance. I was lucky enough to have an incredible music teacher when I was at school, and I aim to pass on that same excitement and passion to my pupils.
Before diving into teaching, I had the pleasure of performing with the National Operatic Society, various symphony orchestras, and chamber and baroque ensembles—an experience that has shaped how I approach music education today. Singing is a huge part of my life, and I’m keen to help every student find and use their own voice in the world of music.
When it comes to my music taste, it’s definitely eclectic! I can lose myself in the grand sounds of Mahler and the hypnotic polyrhythms of John Adams, but you’ll also catch me bopping to Taylor Swift or rocking out to Fleetwood Mac (they make it onto pretty much every playlist I create!).
Outside of teaching, I’m an adventurous cook (much to the horror of Mr Braddock and my two young boys, who often find themselves the test subjects of my culinary experiments!). As a family, we love exploring the countryside and making memories together. I’m also always on the lookout to learn new skills, and recently I’ve got into DIY projects. Don’t worry though, Mr Parke, I’ll be steering clear of the DT room… for now!
I’m excited to keep sharing my love of music with you all and to make sure that music is as much of a joy for you as it is for me!
