Mrs Stringer

Head of Y6/KS2 Teacher

My name is Mrs Stringer, a Key Stage 2 teacher and Head of Year 6 here at Walton.  I feel very lucky to be part of this wonderful school because of the talented team, supportive community and, of course, simply fantastic children! I am very fortunate in that I love my job which involves pastoral management and encouraging all to strive to reach their full potential. It is essential to ensure that the children feel safe and listened to when managing behaviour and I firmly believe that a happy child will have the best outcome.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a horse trainer and riding instructor and also worked in Children’s Services with Staffordshire County Council. I completed an MA in Education in 2017 with a focus on self-esteem and self-efficacy, something I am aware of in my own teaching as I strive to raise pupils self-belief and confidence. Recently, I completed the Level 3 Forest School Leader’s course and am so pleased to share my love of the great outdoors with our lucky pupils in our huge Forest School area.

Outside of school, I continue to pursue my keen interest in horses, having persuaded one of my two children to join in. As a family, we enjoy walks out with our rescue dog, time with friends and enjoying the countryside.
