Headteacher
Hello, I have had the privilege of teaching at Walton for the last seven years. My background is in PE, qualifying as a secondary PE teacher over 20 years ago. However, most of my teaching career has been spent in primary settings. I took over as Headteacher in April 2024, having been the deputy head prior to that. Teaching and learning is where my passion lies but I also enjoy the pastoral aspects of leading a school.
It is not lost on me that your children will spend most of their day with us, therefore making time at school fun, engaging and productive is what drives me. Discovering children’s hidden talents and learning from them is what makes teaching so special. I currently have the pleasure of a group of students teaching me how to crochet!
I have recently completed my NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headteachers). I am also a Chartered Teacher and work closely with the EEF (Education Endowment Foundation).
